Liquid aeration is a method of creating small openings in soil, which can help your lawn to absorb water, fertilizer, and oxygen more effectively, leading to better growth and health. If you're uncertain whether liquid aeration is suitable for your lawn, we've compiled some of the most common questions our customers have about this service.

What makes liquid aeration better than traditional aeration?
Compared to traditional mechanical aeration, liquid aeration is more effective at reducing soil compaction and allowing nutrients to penetrate the entire lawn. Mechanical aeration doesn't go as deep into the soil and can't balance soil pH as effectively as liquid aeration. Liquid aeration doesn't physically disrupt the lawn, making it a gentler option. As a liquid application, it's able to reach the roots without causing damage to the grass or soil. It also provides much better coverage, reaching all parts of the lawn, and is more effective at balancing your soil’s pH
Why should I aerate my lawn?
Due to the natural properties of soil, it can be difficult for water, fertilizer, and oxygen to reach the roots of your turf, hindering its growth. Aeration helps to alleviate soil compaction, providing more space for chemical nutrients and oxygen to permeate the soil and nourish the turf. Once your lawn has been aerated, its roots are able to spread out more and grow stronger. Better yet, the turf becomes more resilient to foot traffic, heat, and drought.

What time of year is best for liquid aeration?
- Warm season turf – including Bermuda, Zoysia, Centipede, and St. Augustine – should be aerated between April and June.
- Cool season turf, such as fescue, should be aerated in September and October.
How quickly will my liquid aeration treatment work?
In most cases, it takes about 24 hours for the liquid aeration to begin working. Depending on the climate and humidity at the time of your service, it may take up to four days for you to notice any results. For best results, you’ll want to thoroughly water your lawn for two weeks after treatment
